In 1976 my Father Boniface Salu Gamino started our family business Gamino Printing Company. He worked in a “in-house” printing shop all of his life. It was an International Labor Union for all the oil, chemical, atomic workers, (OCAW), they were headquartered in downtown Denver.

My Brother Tony and I jumped right in when my father decided to open Gamino Printing. My father insisted we go to a trade school for the industry. Both of us went to Community College of Denver at Auraria Campus. My brother received his Associate but I was too impatient and wanted to get this show on the road!

My father requested a “Union Printing Shop” status from the Graphic Communication International Union, (GCIU). He was accepted and we became the first Hispanic owned and operated union printer in Colorado (in fact in a several state region) and a first generation business owner.

We had some great community connections. My fathers’ friend Senator Don Sandoval helped him with political printing. We have always been able to hold our own with business and corporate business. Gamino Printing has been quite successful and we have always had an excellent reputation with our printing products and services.

My Father retired in 1998 and my brother Tony has moved on. My business continues with new services all of the time. We now do promotional items such as political signage, baseball caps, t-shirts and customized invitations.
